How We Work

FURNITURE SHOPPING MADE DELIGHTFUL

Furniture shopping should be like sinking into your favorite sofa after a long day of work. At Harrison's Design + Furniture, that's more than a belief statement — it's how we approach every customer interaction.

Whether you're searching for furniture or design expertise, we'll start by syncing on a shared vision. This is often achieved by going over photos, videos, or general styles and motifs that you prefer. We'll then get to work by introducing a range of furnishings that meet your aesthetic.

Once we've agreed on the right furniture, we can then tailor it to meet your exact comfort specifications. We can adjust everything from the seat depth and cushion firmness to the arm height and fabrics. We make our customization process smooth and easy.

If you're looking for advanced support, our team of interior designers is at your beck and call. Schedule an in-person consultation at your home and let our experts be your partner in design.

Interior Design Work

From vintage to contemporary, ornate to modest, our licensed interior designers have helped hundreds of individuals turn their homes into an expression of their personal style.

Here’s a small sampling of our work.

About Us

Harrison’s is a family of furniture stores spread across Michigan.

We opened our first store in Clarkston in 2008.  Called KH Home at the time, it specialized in home accessories, jewelry, and fashion items. While the store was very small, it proved the local market’s appetite for a home-focused retailer.

In 2015, we moved to a bigger showroom and rebranded as Harrison’s Design + Furniture. We converted our floor space into an elegant showroom featuring a curated selection of home furnishings. Continued success and customer feedback inspired us to grow our footprint and reach more customers.

While our stores have different names and products, they are connected by a shared vision to help people bridge the gap between comfort, style, and price. Beyond our carefully curated selection, what distinguishes us most is our ability to customize any sofa, chair, or sectional to your exact specifications. Our optional customization process is guided, comprehensive, and totally seamless.

Whether you need some quick advice or a comprehensive design plan, we invite you to stop by one of our showrooms and tell us about your project. Walk right in or make an appointment with one of our design specialists. We look forward to working with you!

Our History

Harrison's Design + Furniture has been a fixture in the Clarkston community for more than a decade. We first opened our doors in 2008 as KH Home, a fashion boutique at 6 N. Main Street specializing in home accessories, jewelry, and fashion items. While the store was very small, it proved the local market's appetite for a home-focused retailer.

Realizing we needed more space to grow, in 2010 we moved down the street to our current location at 27 S. Main St. With the luxury of additional space, we added greeting cards and gift categories to our store offerings. But deep down, we knew this wasn't the store we really wanted to be. So in 2015, we decided to hit the reset button again and focus exclusively on furniture and interiors.

We closed our store for two months, rebranded as Harrison's Design + Furniture, and converted our floor space into an elegant showroom featuring a curated selection of home furnishings. Seven years, one move, and countless reinventions later, we were finally the store we wanted to be. We've been through quite a bit of change, but there's been one constant: the support of our wonderful community and customers.

Our Team

I feel fortunate everyday to have an amazing group of designers working at Harrison’s. They each have their own style, but as with any good designer, can pivot and work with any style the customer wishes. It is the job of a designer to present their client with ideas that they would not have thought of on their own. I hope you will come into the design process with an open mind and see where the process takes you.
